Trey Andrew, RICP, CExP
Managing Partner & Wealth Advisor, Generous Wealth Advisors
Vistage Member since 2023
This month, 3 Pillars is proud to spotlight Trey Andrew—Managing Partner and Wealth Advisor at Generous Wealth Advisors, and a highly engaged member of our Vistage community. Trey embodies the combination of purpose, vision, humility and courage that defines exceptional leadership.
A Career Built Around Service
For more than 15 years, Trey has dedicated his career to helping clients navigate both short-term financial decisions and long-term goals. Since 2009, he has been immersed in real estate investments, property management and small business ventures, serving clients nationwide and across all life stages.
Early in his career, he worked for a nationwide firm specializing in the unique financial needs of physicians. When Trey and his family moved to Tucson in 2019, he quickly became a trusted financial leader in the community, serving as Senior Wealth Advisor for a national firm recognized with numerous accolades, including Forbes Best-in-State.
Discovering Vistage:
A Turning Point
Trey’s introduction to Vistage began when Steve reached out to him on LinkedIn. Trey admitted he had no idea what Vistage was—but agreed to attend an event. That meeting changed everything.
“I had some exposure to executive coaching, but I’d never experienced anything like this,” Trey recalls. “I would never NOT be involved in a group like this. It has been one of the biggest life-changing, career-changing things I’ve ever done.”
What struck him most was the quality of people in the room—and a moment he will never forget. Before joining, he asked current members what they truly thought of Vistage. Long-respected community leader Oscar Lizardi responded candidly that Vistage was “the most impactful thing I have done in my career—and it saved my life.”
“That stopped me dead in my tracks,” Trey said. “If someone of Oscar’s caliber felt that strongly, I had to pay attention.” From that moment forward, Trey knew he had found something profoundly different. He also recognized that Steve’s leadership created an atmosphere unlike other Vistage groups. Later, at the Vistage Summit in Scottsdale, the difference was unmistakable. “It was obvious how special what we had with Steve really was,” he said.
Why Vistage Matters
For Trey, the greatest value comes from the peer-to-peer relationships, the honest and purposeful issue processing, and the willingness of members to share experiences—not theories. “The people in that room helped me take on things I never would have taken on before. The real-world experience they shared gave me the confidence to take risks I might never have taken.” The impact has been enormous—professionally and personally.
“Vistage helped me realize my ladder was on the wrong building; the wrong company,” Trey said. “Vistage gave me the clarity and support to restructure, say goodbye to a business partnership, and rebuild something entirely new. I don’t know that I would have made that change—ever—without Vistage.”
That’s when he took the leap and joined Generous Wealth Advisors. Today, he credits Vistage with shaping the mission, vision, values and client experience focus that now define Generous Wealth. “Simply put, Vistage has made me more successful—and genuinely happier in my career.”
When asked if he would recommend Vistage and 3 Pillars to other community leaders who want to maximize their success he said, “Absolutely. Without hesitation. The caliber of leadership matters, and Steve and the 3 Pillars organization is exceptional.” Trey says he connects with someone from his Vistage group nearly every day. “You get back what you put in,” he says. “Some of my closest friendships have come from this group. We just serve one another. It’s amazing.”
A Leader Shaped by Community
Outside of work, Trey is anchored by his family—his wife Angela and their sons, Titus and Blaise. The Andrews family is wonderfully active: the boys raise and show 27 chickens (with bunnies, guinea pigs, and pigeons now in the mix), run an egg business, and even clean Trey’s office as a side gig. Trey jokes that he’s “sort of their Vistage group,” constantly teaching them about business, including recent lessons about Section 179 and bonus depreciation. Trey also dedicates significant time to coaching, mentoring and supporting at-risk youth and their caregivers. He enjoys mentorship relationships, reading, working out, serving others and exploring the outdoors with his boys.
